I am a custom installer with a client that purchased 4 of these remotes and two have just turned up with no response on the touchscreen buttons. Hard buttons work fine. Is it software or the hardware connection issue?
I attempted to clean the contacts as mentioned in PeraV 's thread but the flexible plastic ribbon with the 4 conductors appeared to not have any connector, it looked as though it was attached directly to the capacitive membrane.
Any new thoughts?

Why a new post for this?

All about it is covered here:

You have 4 options still: send to fix at philips, put a new touchscreen, use a conductive glue to replace the ribon or finally but not least put in my garbage can.

I purchased a locked up TSU3000 on Ebay recently. I gambled that I could find and repair the problem. If all attempts failed at least I would have extra parts for my functioning unit. After retro upgrading the firmware to clear out the junk from the previous owner I discovered the calibration screen was unresponsive to touch. If you can't get past this screen it is basically a brick. I spent a few hours reading all the stuff from remotecentral users and found this person's video.

This guy hit the nail on the head. I did exactly as described and I now have a fully functioning remote that I only paid 20 bucks for after shipping.
Thank You remote central users and thank you Gary Quiring.
