Hi. I am sorry if this is posted elsewhere. I would like my Volume up and Volume down hard kays to repeat for as long as they are held to create a smooth increase or decrease without having to repeatedly push the button. I am sure this is an easy task - please help - how is this done? Thanks!

B4-02 Why won't my codes repeat when held down?.

Click on the links in the box below, in particular you will find : the FAQ, Reviews, Play With It, Phases, Planning and ALIAS.CCF helpful when just starting out.

Also, don't forget the Search Forum at the bottom of the Page. It may seem slow but it is VERY thourough and don't be mislead by the "0%" you will see on the first screen, it is only a progress marker.

That's a good answer most of the time, and one a beginner should be able to use without further help.

The advanced answer is that an IR expert (myself and several others here) can fix it with an easy edit to the Pronto Hex. If you no longer have the orriginal remote available or can't relearn the signal for some other reason, copy the Pronto hex of the signal from ProntoEdit and paste it in a reply here. One of the experts will tell you how to edit it to make it repeat right.

Thanks for the great posts and the advice. I wanted to add a follow-up for other newbies who may be looking into this problem. I am creating a setup in the same manner as described in the Alias link. After reading all of my codes into a Macro panel, I wanted to create some interest, so I added a beep tone. It seems that the IR code was read properly by the device, however, THE BEEP was stopping the device from repeating. Thanks for all of the help. I look forward to many hours of programming on my new pronto and can only hope to someday reach PRONTO GOD status...

cricter,

You got it right. For future reference, codes withing a macro (multiple commands) will not repeat. This holds true even if the second command really isn't a code at all - such as a beep.

I have a couple of commands that I would like to repeat. These are commands that I downloaded for use with a home built HTPC and were generated with codegen (not by me). They seem to work fine, but the repeat problem is there. Not sure what to do with this.

Any ideas

The code for the above is:

0000 006d 0022 0000 0152 00a9 0013 0013 0013 0039 0013 0039 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0039 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0039 0013 0039 0013 0013 0013 0039 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0039 0013 0039 0013 0013 0013 0039 0013 0039 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 05f0

and

0000 006d 0022 0000 0152 00a9 0013 0013 0013 0039 0013 0039 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0039 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0039 0013 0039 0013 0039 0013 0039 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0039 0013 0039 0013 0013 0013 0039 0013 0039 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 05f0

Don't know if that helps. As I say, they do work, but won't repeat.

Thanks for any help.
