I have a pronto pro which has been working fine, however it has stopped talking to the remote extender. I have a second PP and this has stopped also. I hvae a powermid and it talks to this fine. I am told by the supplier of the RF extender that is is working fine but I still cannot get them to talk anymore. If I reset the extender I can pass 1 command and then nothing. The light is permanently on, on the extender is this normal?

I think one light stays on on the extender but blinks, or lights brighter, as commands pass through.
I had a problem with one of these extenders and it solved itself when I switched the setting. It was not that the extender needed to be on a different setting, but that rotating the switch scraped clean a section of the switch, so there was a better contact than before. Try moving the switch back and forth repeatedly. This might give you way more than one command!

Thanks - tried cleaning both switches - no change - any other ideas?

Double check your settings on the remote and on the rf station. Make sure that they are the same. Also on the remote itself you might want to go to each device and put it to IR, then back to RF. Even if you had the settings to RF in prontoedit then downloaded it to the remote. There has been cases that the settings were changed from rf to ir. But didn't show it in the set up menu.

I had one do this. I took it apart and found that the connection between the two circuit boards inside had broken loose. There is one small board that is the RF receiver. It is connected to the main IR board by a three-prong connector. The connecter itself acts as a support as well as one plastic stand-off. Aparently, the connector on the IR board broke loose from its soldering. I tried to repair it, but after a few failed attempts, I gave up and bought a new one.
