I've had pretty good luck programming everything else in my system, but the Technics is not working well. I can turn power on/off and control volume, but I can't program any input selections into the unused keys. Different random number keys will switch the inputs to VCR, CD, TV/DSS and Tuner, but I can't make DVD work. Head-to head learning only produces a single red light and no function assigned to the 1994 key. Am I doing something wrong or are there issues that I'm not aware of? I'd appreciate any help at all on this. Also, how will I know when I've used all the memory up?

Thanks in advance,
Ted

Am I right in assuming that you are using receiver device code 0308? If that's the case, you could try advanced code 227 for the DVD select.

As for the number keys being the input selects, that's how UEIC (the people who make these remotes) set them up.

If you'd like to see a cool way to set up the input selects, check out the "Tips" page on my site.

If you were using the DVD functions of the Technics remote (ie, Up, Down, Title, etc) those functions can be found under DVD/0490 (remember that DVD codes are VCR codes in the 15-1994).

Thanks, Rob

The 227 code worked great. I'm almost there. Your site has been invaluable to me. One (hopefully) last question. Would you know the code to get My Sony Wega KV27FS12 TV to the Video 4 (Component video) mode? I can only get to Video 3 with the 0000 advanced codes.

Thanks again,
Ted

Rob,

I'm confused. What is HD? Where should I input these codes?

I don't know what HD is, I translated these codes from someones file in the Pronto section. The codes are advanced codes, so enter them in the same way that you entered the 227 code.

Just try them, if they don't do anything, never mind, if they select the input that you are looking for, then you're all set.

Remember, the guy who created the file that I copied doesn't have to label the input as VIDEO4, he's more likely to label it based on what he has connected to it.

Thanks, Rob for your help, but those codes didn't do it either. I can get it to go into Video 1, 2 & 3, but not 4. I found an earlier message from this forum where someone found a code to do it with his Sony, but it didn't work on mine (he didn't specify his model). Oh, well, I'll keep trying...

Thanks again,
Ted

Well Ted, it might be time to do it the hard way and search for the code manually. Print off one of the worksheets from my site, write in any known codes and then try the others to see if you can find the one you are looking for.

If you go through all of them in device 0308, you could try device 0518 next, and finally DVD/0490.

Good luck,
Rob.
