Am I right in assuming that you are using receiver device code 0308? If that's the case, you could try advanced code 227 for the DVD select.

As for the number keys being the input selects, that's how UEIC (the people who make these remotes) set them up.

If you were using the DVD functions of the Technics remote (ie, Up, Down, Title, etc) those functions can be found under DVD/0490 (remember that DVD codes are VCR codes in the 15-1994).
