I recently purchased the 9800 remote and previously had the 8090. The book for the 8090 had a code of 206 for the JVC VCR which worked perfectly. The VCR is a very popular model and around a year old. the new 9800 doesn't have the 206 code and none of the codes in the book work. The 9800 won't accept the 206 code. What should I do? Please help

Just for fun try the codes 041 or 067. Add an extra zero at the beginning if the remote wants 4 digit codes. These codes are for JVC VCRs on the ONE4ALL cinema 6 or 7. 0067 worked with my SVHS JVC VCR. If that fails, try the code search trick (991) which should be outlined in your manual.

Good luck,

Dave

Thanks Dave, that worked. Any idea how to get the remote to work with the Yamaha RXV-992 receiver? 2 years old. I've tried all the Yamaha codes.

Devices from some companies are made by others then relabeled. My GO-Video VCR, for example, was made by Samsung and works with samsung codes. My Optimus receiver (from Radio Shack) was made by pioneer and works with pioneer codes. Try codes from all the manufacturers. It'll take while, but you'll be very happy if and when you fnid the code that works.

Try the code search trick (991).

Last but not least, You can also email ONE4ALL. Give them the model, year, and manufacturer of your device and ask for device codes that will work, and any advanced codes that come with that device code.

Good luck,

Dave

I've seen a lot on advanced codes. What exactly does that mean? Where and how do you program them? Also, when you take off the battery cover, there looks to be some type of interface at the bottom. Does anyone know what that is for?

Search previous messages for "advcanced codes". It's been covered before.

The factory uses the port to program and test the raw remote. There is no consumer use found for it (at least yet).
