Greetings all,
everything else programmed fine - the one code they publish for Bose (0674) doesn't work at all - any thoughts?

thanks!

Hi John,

I suspect the Bose code in the Home Producer (0674)is for a Bose Wave Radio -- which won't work with your Lifestyle system. We are looking into providing a product that will enable learning remotes like the Home Producer to control our Lifestyle systems.

Stay tuned to Remote Central, we will announce any developments here.

Hi Darryl,

Is there any progress on this situation? I for one, would be happy with just IR control of volume and power. I wouldn't mind using the Bose remote for the other functions, but I hate that I have to have 2 remotes to watch TV!

The probelm you are having is that the Bose Lifestyles systems work on an RF (radio frequency) remote not an IR (infrared). One or two of the Oneforall models uses RF but it does not have the codes for Bose systems. I do not think the is any way to teach it Bose frequencies either.

If you have not found a solution I would try calling the Bose Customer Service Hotline (this is from the Bose.com website)

1-800-367-4008, in the U.S., Monday through Friday 8:30AM – 7:00PM EST and Saturdays from 9:00AM – 3:00PM EST.

The RF used on ANY universal remote -- such as the URC-9800 -- is NOT for control of RF devices. It is for RF control of IR-based devices, from the remote to the basestation to your devices. The reason that no remote controls can operate RF devices is because there is no standard -- everyone does their own thing.

So what it boils down to is that it'll be impossible for you to integrate control of your Bose system and the rest of your equipment into a single remote control, at least not until Bose comes out with a solution (which they don't seem keen on doing).
