Due to the design of my TV volume controls (a Mitsubishi), when using the TV I am forced to turn my receiver volume up quite loud (a Denon AVR-3300) and then adjust the TV volume playing through the receiver using the TV's volume settings.

This seems to work OK, except that every time I turn on the TV, I have to adjust the receiver's volume to the correct level. I would like to create a macro for my Radio Shack 15-1994 remote to automatically adjust the volume on the receiver to a specific volume. Is this possible, or do you have any other suggestions to solve the problem?

You might be able to go from MAX VOL to MIN by send X VOL - commands. That would give you a known starting volume. Then you could send Y VOL + to achieve the desired volume. The problem is that a macro is limited to 15 buttons. Something I've been wondering about is whether a macro can use another macro. Suppose X=30 and Y=7. Program 2S to be 15 VOL - and 3S to be 7 VOL +. If 1S can be 2S, 2S, 1S, then you have a 37 key macro!
