Hello,
I've just purchased the 8800 and I cannot get the codes to my Onkyo cd player and dvd player, DX-C380 and DV-C601, respectively.
Being new to this, what does one do when the suggested codes in the manual and searching codes do not work?? What is the next step?

Hi Dan,
I can understand your problem. I also have Onkyo equipment. If you look at my post last week, you will see that Universal gave me two new codes. Unfortunately, these did not work for me either. Neither was I able to learn any functions from my Onkyo DVD player remote. Universal said that if you send them your 8800, they will upgrade it for you. I decided to return my third 7800 and ask Onkyo for one of their own universal remotes free of charge for all of the aggrivation that I have been through. Still waiting for a respose. I was able to learn from my Onkyo DVD player, but being a novice, I'm not sure if it's possible to see what that code actually is, and could I map it to my DVD button, rather than the l1??
