Could be bad antennas on the NC-50.

Dave,

With those early NC-50s that had bad antennas, does the whole unit really need to be replaced, or could the antenna just be swapped out? Where exactly is the problem in those units?

Hi,

Usually it is just the antenna that needs to be swapped.

It could be that the antenna is not screwed in correctly.

it worked fine for 3 weeks though. and nothinng had touched it since initial startup. that's what I don't get....

and then having the same rf connection issue with my H890 upstairs at hte exact same time.

My vendor has recommended trying swapping an antenna form my wireless router? (assuming the threads are the same) I'm thinking of giving that a try tomorrow.

Did you ever send sydinstaller your config and let him take a look at it? He knows his stuff, so you should definitely take him up on his generous offer.

I have not read anyone mention the fact that Z-wave can pick up interference, In one of my installs I was going crazy with communication problems untill I found out the customers baby moniter was wiping out all my Z-wave.

uh oh -- I have one of those right now as well......so they can interfere with Zwave? I thought the baby monitors are 2.3ghz?

Sydneyinstaller, I'll fwd you my config tomorrow (Sunday 8/24). I'm sorry for the delay and I definitely appreciate the assistance! I've got a new baby (named Sydney actually!) at home and time to play with the Nevo stuff has diminished drastically. I still want to get it corrected as the IR thing is a bit anoying.....
