Does Nevo work with Homeseer or one of the Insteon or X-10 based home automation programs

It can work with X10 devices. I am not certain about the Home Seer or the Insteon.
The Nevo can send the IR to just about anything, so if Insteon can accept IR and then convert it to its own language needs, like X10 does, it should be ok.

Thanks, ddarche. Insteon itself does not have an IR interface as of yet but is backward compatible with x-10. Unfortunatley when you use Insteon in the X-10 mode you loose the benefit of the insteon device which provides more reliable communication than x-10. Although I know many people who continue to use x-10 without a problem. Homeseer is a program interface for the computer that alows control over x-10, insteon, and audio/video equipment with the right interfaces. If I can use Nevo to access this program through wi-fi that would be great.

It is worth a try but the wi-fi on the Nevo SL is not "open". Only works through UPnP.
Would be interesting if the HomeSeer would see it.

My understanding of Homseer, from a long time user, is that the program itself cannot be controlled by a remote. You can learn IR codes using a third party hardware that allows it to be incorporated into macros within Homseer and sent to devices via TCP/IP. NevoSL is not capable of that at this time. You can control any IR controllable X-10 (using X-10's IR543 Command Center) device using the 0167 Home Automation code. Insteon is not supported, but I spoke to someone at CEDIA who said Nevo and Insteon were working on compatibility, as well as ZWave.

Excellent. Hope they are able to get compatibility with at least INSTEON. Their devices are cheaper then Z-wave.
