I just got a new ProntoNeo in a silent auction this weekend (it looked brand new) and I am having trouble programing it. I attempted to set up the brand by choosing a source. When I would choose the source and held the Mode down for 3 seconds, I had the opportunity to choose "Brand" after doing that, it would say to enter a code for the DVD. Well that is not the "Brand" I chose. All I can do is enter the code for the first device on the list (which is the DVD). How do I get to the other devices? Is it broke?

Change to the device you want to program and THEN use the Mode menu to enter Brand mode.

Once you've figured out the codes I would recommend programming this by computer. And if by "looked brand new" you mean "slightly used" then it may not have the original config on it, which can be downloaded by PC.
