I have a Onkyo s770 receiver, infocus 4800 projector, apex dvd player, tivo from directTV and would like to move to X10 lighting.

Will this remote do everything i need?

technically it should be able to operate all of your components. Whether it is the right remote for you depends on your preferences. It does have a black and white (4 color greyscale) touchscreen with several hard buttons. It does allow you to customize your screens, setup macros, and learn codes from other remotes.

As for X10, you would need to pick up an IR543 (or IR543AH). This device receives IR signals from your remote and converts them to the X10 signals. I've used one for a couple of years now.
