I just got a Neo and I started by setting the brands to my components and learning a few of the commands from existing remotes (all just using the pronto, sitting in front of the TV). I uploaded the config from the Pronto in to NeoEdit 2.0.7 and now I'd like to switch some things around.

I don't seem to be able to adjust the size of existing buttons. The button locations are editable, but the sizes are locked down.

Additionally, If I try to change a button label from "R" which I selected just when I was learning on the Pronto to the rewind symbol ("<"), when I go to change the label it inserts "DTS <" and the button shows just an empty square in NeoEdit.

Lastly, I'd like to know how I can reorder pages for a selected component.

Thanks.

Ray.

Hello Webdad.
This is only a Pronto Neo, NeoEdit is compleatly different from ProntoEdit.

1. You are not able to resize a button, you have to choose a new bmp from the gallery.

2. Signs from the labelpage are only shown corrrect in 10 or 12 pts.

3. There is no recorder in the ProntoNeo.

Thanks. That resolved most of my issues.

One additional thing. I tried to create a macro to tune to HGTV. I got the right code set, and I programmed the sequence to be:
digit
.1sec pause
digit
.1sec pause
digit

I selected the correct numbers in the IR Command list, but when I play the macro, the box receives 111 instead of 061. When I edit the command in NeoEdit, each digit command shows the same number.

Thanks.

Got it. I used linked commands back to the Cable Box numbers. Works fine.

technically there is no way to "reorder" pages, but you can cut, copy and paste pages and manually rebuild your config in the order you like. The only constraint is that any macros that link back to other pages/devices will be lost and have to be re-entered.

.1sec pause

No, macros can only include LINKS to commands they cannot contain "actual commands". To be honest, I am not sure why you would want to do it any other way. Otherwise, if you ever changed a component of your system you would have to re-learn the codes multiple times to different buttons. This way, all of your buttons link back to the original device codes. If you change the original device, you automatically change the linked buttons as well.

If I had to guess, I'd say that they only designed the software/firmware to contain one code per button. Obviously, they didn't put a ton of time, effort, or money into developing the Neo, so I wouldn't expect them to go to the trouble of changing it. Same goes for having the option there...a good design would black out the option...but this isn't perfect.

An easy way around this is to use NeoSynch (see the Neo files section here at Remote Central). IIRC, It will reorder your pages without losing any macro links.

NeoSynch can even change your start page (move the one you want to start on all the way to the top), but be careful to keep a backup of your file in case you accidentally edit in NeoEdit and overwrite your custom startup page.
