I bought a ProntoNEO today, and of course, my tv code isn't listed (APEX 55" Wide HD, don't know the model), my receiver code doesn't seem to work (I have a Sony STR-K740P), and my cable box code only partially works (Scientific Atlanta Explorer8000).

I'm a complete moron when it comes to this stuff, so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've gotten the Pronto to learn some commands, so I can power on my tv, receiver, cable box, and dvd player. I can get the guide to pop up from the cable box, but can't scroll up and down, and that's about it.

How do I make all this stuff work? I know that's a very general question, but is there somewhere I can find codes to make the ProntoNeo control all of my devices?

Thanks!

First thing is to check the files area to see if others have similar equiptment to yours. If so, you can download the "component configuration file" and copy the buttons to your own in order to get the needed codes. I am pretty sure you'll find files for your cable box and your receiver. I don't know about the TV. Perhaps do some searching and see if you can find out if Apex TVs are manufactured under another brand name?

Thanks, I'll try that. There is a file for my cable box, but it includes a bunch of other things that I don't have. If I copy that file, will it include all of those other components? Will that make a difference?

basically, it will be that users entire setup. All you have to do is open both your NCF and that NCF in neoedit. Right click on the device in the downloaded NCF and choose copy. Then right click in your NCF "device list" and choose paste. You can also copy screens the same way or drag buttons from one to another.

ok, I downloaded the NCF, opened it in neoedit, and clicked on the parts I want and hit copy. To paste it into my NCF, to I first need to connect the ProntoNeo to the computer? How do I get my NCF into NeoEdit?

I am assuming you setup your Neo on the remote itself rather than programming it with neoedit??? If so, then yes, you will have to connect the Neo to your computer. There is an "upload" option in neoedit that will import your NCF into neoedit. Then you can cut and paste the buttons/screens/devices that you need. After you are done, save the NCF on your PC for future use....and then use the download option to put your new NCF on your neo.
