I currently have a LeapFrog wireless video transmitter with a built-in IR extender. The audio/video transmission works well enough, but I need something more sophisticated in terms of IR/RF control. I am looking at one of the URC IR/RF models, since I'm already accustomed to the layout (MX-500 user).
Has anyone tried to use an RF remote in conjunction with one of these devices? Will the presence of this other IR/RF extender interfere with the remote's IR/RF signals? There doesn't seem to be any way to turn off the IR extender function on the LeapFrogs...?

LeapFrog runs at 433 Khz, if I'm not mistaken, and the MRF modules run at 418. So, since they are not running on the same frequency, they should work just fine for you. Leapfrog uses 418 as well.

Edmund, Ah, ok. The 433 may have been for a different feature or on a specific model. Thank you, Damon DG = = = = = http://www.ProRemotes.com - Authorized Dealer & Remote Programming

Actually, after you mentioned this I went looking for documentation. I don't have my manual with me, but the brochure I found online did specify 433 MHz. I hope that's true, as I went ahead and ordered a remote!

Apparently so; I guess I won't know for sure until the remote arrives (never can trust the documentation for consumer devices...).
BTW, on an RF-based extender like this, does the transmitter generally send a continuous carrier signal, or is it only when sending a command? If it's the latter, I can probably work around any interference problems just by hiding the IR transmitter (video receiver) unit...
