I am busily configuring my new MX-500 and really love it's flexibility. But I am banging into an issue with my HD-TiVo that I saw others ask about but I could not find a solution and I was wondering if anyone figured out yet....

Is there anyway to have a single button press on the MX-500 select a specific resolution on the HR10-250...

Even the TiVo remote makes you cycle through the settings... to get to a new one... I am trying get make things really simple for selecting either HDTv viewing through HDMI or SDTv through S-Video...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't believe there are any discretes for the resolution settings. You likely need to use macros to switch between the settings you want, including enough "Up" button pushes in each to get to the desired setting. This would be easier with one of the other MX or URC series remotes which allow for macros on any LCD button. With the MX-500, you'd probably want to use one of the "M" buttons.

Mike,
Thanks for the reply... I thought about that but the number of "ups" depends on where you are now... but I guess I could assume I am always in 720P and 480i would be 3 ups away from there... then it is 3 ups to get back... Thanks for the reply... I know this must get asked a lot... I searched and didn't find anything with a solution so I thought it best to just ask again...
Best regards,
RA

Yes, that's about the best you could do with the MX-500. I leave my 10-250 in 1080i mode all the time regardless of what I'm watching and let it upscale the SD stuff.

I have been using 720P and 1080i but I find that the SD picture looks much better on my Panny Plasma using S-Video.

You can make the up arrow for the HR10-250 a toggle between SD and HD formats by going to Settings>Video>Output Format - UP Arrow Setup and select only 480i and either 720p or 1080i. Then the up arrow will select only 2 formats which is all that's ever needed anyway.

I forgot about that too... I guess then it would just be two "ups"... The first just displays what mode you are in...
Thanks,
