Hello,

I'm looking for this information for several days, hope I found the right place...
Here is my question: is the remote that comes with the Sunfire Theater Grand III amplifier an MX-500?
On the pictures (see for example ), it looks like an mx-500 but I'd like to know if it is exactly the same? For example, may be the amplifier commands cannot be changed?

Thanks for your answer,
Christophe

It's an MX-500. You can program it just like you would program any other MX-500 remote.

Hello!

Thanks for your answer! But before buying the remote, I'd like to be sure that even the amplifier buttons can be reprogrammed? I'm asking that because, if it comes with the amplifier, the manufacturer has entered the IR codes for the amplifier, and maybe they can't be reprogramed...

Thanks again for your help,
Christophe

It is programmable just like any MX-500.

Are you buying this from an individual or are you buying it from Sunfire? I would recommend you look for an MX-700 or MX-800 which is a much better remote plus it's PC programmable. Check with either of these two companies and they may be able to get you one. Plus they are both authorized dealers which means you get warranty and support.

If you really want the MX-500 Bluedo has it for a very reasonable price.

Thank you Mitch for your answer!

In fact, it is an auction (that ends up in 20 hours!)
I've got a last hesitation with the logitech harmony 555 (550 in the US). I like the concept of activities, the sensor for activation of backlight, but I know that some people think it is quite cheap (the volume buttons make click sound when pressed for example).
Which one should I choose?
