LOL, yes the CI's here don't like people to know they can get a much better deal! BTW I only paid $100.00 for my MX-850.

$130 and $100 - used doesn't count. Not to many CI's hustling used gear.

I'm serious. There's rules in place that you have to follow.

If you're not responsible enough to follow those rules, then this shouldn't be the place for you.

I'm serious, you guys have all been warned, no?

Oh? So Mr. OTAHD has decided that the price of an item cannot be discussed here now. What is your problem? It seems like every thread you participate in, you eventually warn somebody about something. I thought the whole idea of a forum is to help people get the best value for their money. That's the way it is in other "home improvement" forums I participate in......

Sorry about the phrasing...you caught me before the edit. I did not mean for it to come across that way...after I re-read it I rephrased it to convey my idea more clearly. My original statement does sound like too much of a warning from me, which is not what I was trying to say, but rather reiterate that everyone has already been warned of the new rules, as contained in this thread.

I did not decide on anything. Maybe it's your lack of reading interpretation that makes you not understand. Allow me to quote this post.

OK, I've had it. The big "new policy" thread has had its
last post. The topic has been discussed, beaten to death,
re-animated and beaten to death again.

You all have had your say on the matter, which is now
about 9 months old and obviously not changing. Due to
the closure of this thread there will be no policy discussion
in any other thread in this or the Complete Control forum.
The only thread remaining will deal with assisting owners
with getting software - no policy talk.

Anyone persisting in bringing up this subject matter will
find their account closed. You've had your say. Move on.

Now maybe your lack of ability to interpret what you read also applies to the first post to this thread. The original poster does not seem to be advertising a buy (of which the Marketplace would be the correct forum), but rather seems to be making a satire on the ineffectiveness of URC's policy, as evidenced by the quote "b/c I should make Ebay my new distributor."

If you actually read into it, you would see that what is being discussed is not the price of an item, but rather an attempt to reintroduce the issue of the URC software and support policy.

If that is not the correct idea being put forth, then I would ask the original poster to clear this up for me. I offer my deepest apologies if this is the case.

Geez - do you believe in conspiracy theories too? You are correct - I did not "read" anything into the posts on this thread. I do not see anything that has to do with anyone's policies on anything - just some people having fun with prices of goods. If I am supposed to second guess everyone's intentions with their posts, then you are correct again - I don't belong here.

The OP'r didn't seem to be referencing anything other than is the 850 being (My interpretation) discontinued. I looked on eBay and any 850 under 180 is used. Ali was spot on.

I don't interpret ANYTHING said in this post yet to be inconsitant with Dans statement of URC policy, with the exception of the post by the Pot-stirrer.

So which part am I not allowed to talk about: the remote price, Ebay, or URC policy or all.

I am just noting that on Ebay which I use as a rough guide of street value that the MX-850 (my favorite) remote NEW is selling for so low that I am going to take a big hit on selling my extra one. Guess where I will be telling friends to look for their next remote.

As a customer it's great. I honestly don't need to bash URC's policy. Anyone who has been on any AV forum knows about it.

Final point - It makes sense that these are indications of a product line being dropped or discontinued.

Any other ?'s about my inner motivations can be forwarded to my Mother and shrink.
