I spent a couple of hours setting up Pronto Edit and then uploaded remote button displays. I then used my old remotes to talk to my new Pronto. Used the learn device. All commands said sucessful but nothing works. No control of Projector, SAT , DVD or SAT. What did I do wrong? Any help appreciated, I am not a techno guy.

Bob:
The only thing that springs to mind is: have you checked in iProntoedit that you have not got your Pronto set to use RF rather than IR commands? It's in the properties pages for the iPronto and devices. You have to do this with Prontoedit.

this is our second ipronto so im not sure if this is true or not but...
ive noticed that if you do hold the remote (to be learned) too close or too far from the ipronto ir eye, the signal blasts is too powerful or is too low. to test this theory, put the ipronto remote real close to the dvd ir receiver and try it.
also if flourescent lights are in the room, this also may affect the ir receiver.

Thanks for the ideas. I am going to start from scratch this Saturday. I did check the "properties " and it was set for IR. Bob

Perhaps you forgot to set "Learn" back to "Use" ?

So... what is the solution to the unit not "waking up"? Is it the network card? Mine started doing this too. Even before I upgraded the firmware. Now, it doesn't seem to wanna even finish booting up when I reset it! It's just sitting there. The blue Phillips iPronto screen comes up, then it starts "cleaning resources", the screen flashes, music plays, blue Philips screen comes up again with the animated logo, and it just sites there.... Won't get past that screen.
Do I need to send this thing off for repair. Or better yet, TAKE A HAMMER TO IT!!!

Jackand7: I think you'll get more replies if you start this as another thread, but here is my suggestion for you. It sounds to me like your firmware update didn't complete properly. What you need to do (if I'm right) is reset the iPronto whilst keeping the "Channel +" button pressed. This brings you into the MANUAL CONFIGURATION menu. Then press Volume + to go down in the menu untill you've reached RESTORE. Press the Channel + button to select the menu option which will bring you to the RESTORE menu. In the RESTORE menu, point to the "FLAG FOR UPDATE ON" menu option and select it with the "Channel +" button. The FLAG FOR UPDATE ON has now been set to YES. With the Volume + button point to the DONE and select it with Channel + this brings you back to the previous menu. Now select the RESUME option which will launch a firmware update.
Good luck!

I got all the components working after several tries. Haven't ddone macro yet. Still have some glitches e.g. the on and off buttons worked on Yamaha 1400 for 3 days then stopped. Other buttons worked. Seems it forgot the command, Redid it and it works fine for now.
