quintoa,

The best bet for getting the hex codes that work, would be to copy and paste them into a text file, save them to your computer, and then follow my Post #13 to input only the codes that work using the Infrared Anylisis Center.

I have a Loewe Articos TV and I contacted their support folks here in the UK. They gave me the following RC5 codes:

QUOTE
Switch on = 22
Switch off = 25

AV channels are 28,30,36 and 37 for each AV channel i.e. AV1, AV2, AV3 and AVS.
UNQUOTE

My inputs are labelled AV1, AV2, AV3 and AVS not Vid1C, Vid1S etc.

I had Harmony support create discreet entries for me but they don't seem to do anything, so now I'm hoping with a little help from the good folks here that I can get the discreets working properly and finally prove to SWMBO that the 659 really is the easiest remote to use!

I don't really understand RC5, RC6 etc so I have a few questions
Q1 how do these numbers relate to the hex codes above?
Q2 If they don't can someone provide the right hex codes for my RC5 numbers?
Q3 is it safe to assume that my AV1, AV2 etc are equivalent to your Vid1S, Vid1C in some way?

That should do it for now!

These codes are known as RC5 Short Form 1. Prontos can understand these codes and translate them internally into learned codes. The learned codes are as follows - enter these into the harmony web page through the Infrared Analysis Centre. Instructions for doing so are here:

Well the codes all converted OK and I've mapped each one to a soft key for testing. The receive light on the TV flashes but nothing else happens. So I guess that means these codes aren't right for my TV which is odd because they came directly from Loewe support. ANy suggestions?

If you know anyone with a Pronto, have them create these discrete codes, then "learn" them from the Pronto. So far that seems to be the only way to go. I doubt that Loewe would give you wrong codes. It's too bad, I had my fingers crossed and everything.

I feel your pain Stig.

The process that worked for me was starting with a .CCF file for the Loewe TVs. Then a buddy of mine that had a Pronto used ProntoEdit to show me the hex codes. After he loaded up that .CCF he may also have those other codes as well for your model which uses AV1, AV2,etc. I will try to find the codes ProntoEdit shows for these intputs and post them here. Perhaps they are different.

But as far as I can tell, none of this conversion stuff works reliably with this TV. If it works you are lucky. I don't know what magic the Pronto interjects here to get these things to work (see above) but if they can get it to work in hardware (i.e. Harmony learns from Pronto fine) you'd think they could get the converion tool to spit out codes that work. So far only RC5 codes have been converted by this tool and found to work - but not for all codes (see above)

If you still interested in sleuthing this out, I will try to post the Pronto codes for the entire .CCF file here soon. I just haven't gotten the time yet.

My suggestion for Harmony is to get their web conversion tool working with .CCF files directly.

I'm certainly still interested in getting thsi sorted out. FYI here's a resposne I got from Loewe:

QUOTE
Thank you for your enquiry to the Loewe Helpline.

First of all the on/off should work, there maybe various reasons but Loewe say the remote is not on subsystem 0 (which is important). The TV will recognise many RC commands and indicate them with the red LED light, so it seems that the RC sends an RC5 signal but not the right one
UNQUOTE

Not sure what they mean by subsystem 0 anyone have any idea?

Maybe ask Loewe to send you the codes in RC6/RAW format instead of RC5?
