When I attempt to update my 720, I get "Plug the USB cable into the remote control, or press any button on the remote control to wake it up.". Everything else about it works fine and it worked fine the last time I updated it. The 720 is not recognized on the computer in either OS X 10.5.6 or in XP via Bootcamp. Its not that its seen as an "Unknown Device", its not there at all. The 720 does recognize it is connected to USB and displays "USB Connected". I've tried different computers and cables and USB ports. Keeping everything the same and plugging in the Harmony 520, it updates fine. So this narrows it down to the 720. I've searched through Logitech's support site and have attempted every suggestion there, nothing works. Since I'm not able to communicate with it, I don't see there being any way to get it working via a software or firmware update or anything similar. It there any key combination or anything similar to return it to factory settings?

Thanks!

there's no "factory reset" per se. you can try putting the remote in safe mode and upgrading firmware. take out the batteries, hold the OFF button and place the batteries back in or plug in the USB cable while holding the OFF button. you should eventually see a message on the LCD that says SAFE MODE REQUESTED. if the OFF button doesn't work, try the OK button.

it could be a remote problem so you might be better off contacting harmony warranty.

I got it into Safe Mode, but I can't upload any firmware because the computer still isn't recognizing its plugged in even though the remote does. Perfect time for this to happen too, its just out of warranty and Logitech just axed their phone support. I've emailed Logitech and told them exactly everything I've tried to attempt to get this to work. I've tried everything listed on their support site. They keep emailing me back with different things to try that I've already done. This had been a weeks adventure trying to get this thing updated.
