Hello all. Last night I got my new Harmony One configured and my first impression are that it's pretty good. It looks good and the LCD screen works a treat. I also like the rubberised hand grip that's been added. I had an 885 prior to that which build quality wise, I found to be terrible. It had the usual button and charger problems and I had three replacements. My initial impression is that the One seems to be far superior in build quality over the 885.

I've got some of Randy's icons on the One and they look great (thanks Randy). I was initially a bit worried as it didn't have the coloured buttons on it (red, blue, green and yellow) but found them to be automatically assigned to the LCD screen so all was well. I've just got a few questions about it:

1. Are there any more themes that can be downloaded apart from diode, tron etc?
2. Can the 'activity' buttons on the LCD be customised like the ones in the favourites list? I seem to remember a thread about this where someone was going to contact Logitech and ask them. Similarly, can the buttons you assign to the LCD screen for a particular activity be cusomised?
3. Is there any way to display more than three activities on one page on the LCD?
4. I don't fully understand the 'sequence' option in the software. What does this relate to?
5. Finally, and this is regarding the forum, not the remote: is there any way to get email notifications when a reply is received to a thread that you're interested in?

Thanks in advance.

A sequence is just a macro containing up to five commands within an activity. The commands can come from different devices. You can define a sequence, then assign it to a hard or soft (lcd) button.

Short answers below:

1. Are there any more themes that can be downloaded apart
from diode, tron etc?

No

2. Can the 'activity' buttons on the LCD be customised
like the ones in the favourites list?

I've read of users doing this. Not sure how to set it up.

Similarly, can the buttons you
assign to the LCD screen for a particular activity be
cusomised?

Yes, in as much as you can customize each activity.

3. Is there any way to display more than three activities
on one page on the LCD?

No

4. I don't fully understand the 'sequence' option in the
software. What does this relate to?

Sequences allow you to create a string of commands to one 'sequence'. Like a macro. For example, a sequence can be constructed to send a command to open a menu, scroll down a menu two levels, send an 'okay' to select the item.

5. Finally, and this is regarding the forum, not the remote:
is there any way to get email notifications when a reply
is received to a thread that you're interested in?

Don't know about that one.

Thanks in advance.

Many thanks for the replies, much appreciated. I've got another question: I was messing around with the slide show thing just for the hell of it and edited five photos to the right size and put them on the One. All was well, so I edited another 32 more (yes, I got carried away!). When I went to put some others on, I could only get another three on the remote giving a total of eight. Am I missing an option somewhere or is the maximum number of photos you can have in a slide show eight?

The thing about the slide show is you can not use it like a Digital Picture Frame. You can only add a limited number of pictures to the slide show and I believe that the number is 8. The slide show will only run for a few seconds before the display turns off. And no you can not extend this time.

Ok, thanks for that.

Ray,

That's good, especially as the rest of us didn't even know that you had a question :)

I did have a look at some other threads but couldn't see a question from Ray. I took it to be slide show related.

So far, I'm really pleased with the One. It just 'feels' better than the 885. I even had an 885 as a replacement that was faulty right out of the box with button issues. The One is the first bit of kit I've bought that's got a touch screen and I think it's a nice touch and works well on the remote.

I said I could 'see' a question. That doesn't mean he didn't ask one. I took it to be slide show related because his post was directly after one of mine which quoted rehaz1's explanation of the slide show issue. Maybe I was putting two and two together and getting five. Anyway, who cares, he's got his answer and I got mine. I can't believe I just wasted my time writing this!

.... and editing it.

Maybe the two of you are just communicating by ESP :)

I'm even misquoting myself now! In post 9 I said 'couldn't see a question from Ray' not 'could' as I said in post 11. Oh no, I'm wasting my time again. Doh!
