They don't work under the any of the "devices" you set up. They load up on a sub page of the "Watch TV" (or "Watch DVR") Activity. If you go to that activity's settings you'll see a radio button labelled "Set Up Favorite Channels". There you may "browse" for any icons you have on your local drive or use Harmony's preset icons (but only if you really, really, really like all the fox stations- it seems that's all they have!?!) I hope that helps you out. ,R Thanks man, I found it! So, once I have it set up with the icons, it will change the channel via my Directv receiver, and not the TV, correct?

It will change the channels of your DirecTV box as long as you have specified for it to do so during the setup of your "Watch TV" activity. The best way I have found to ensure I have the proper settings is to simply go through and operate my equipment. If something doesn't work I go back and tweak the settings. Once I have all the settings right I am now finding out I can go back and actually adjust the delays to increase component response time. It makes a huge difference in the usability of this excellent remote. I hope that's not overwhelming with too much info. ,R On February 24, 2008 at 13:06, acillatem said...

I figured you'd have to tell the remote that the DVR changes channels........I don't remember it asking me that yesterday when I set that activity up, but I wasn't thinking of that at that time.

Thanks!

You didn't see it because I'm a spaz and gave you bum info... it doesn't come up during the setup. You specify the channel changing at the activity's "customize buttons" area. Just make sure for the Channel up and down buttons you have specified the DVR control from the pulldown menu. Now that should do it. ,R On February 24, 2008 at 15:55, acillatem said...

Nope. Remember the Favorite Channels option is only available under the "Activities" tab setting, and only for those activities that contain a cable/sat/tv tuner of some type. It is not available under the "Devices" settings. Let me know if it's still not coming up under your "Watch TV" activity. ,R On February 24, 2008 at 16:52, acillatem said...

I figured for the price it was worth a try, maybe even replace my MX-950 in the family room and shift remotes to the other rooms! The plus was the RF. I have to believe the ONE will eventually have RF. On February 24, 2008 at 10:51, squareeyes said...
That's an excellent deal you found! I still plan to convert the H1 icons to the 1000, so you'll be able to load it up. I hope to have them done later this year as I finish rounding out the H1 icons. ,R

In the Harmony remote software after you click "Set Up Favorite Channels" a screen will come up where you can add the icons and corresponding channel numbers. At the top of the screen is another check box "Always display these channels on the remote when...". If you check that box then update your remote then the favorite screen will appear on your remote after you select "Watch TV". If you don't select it then there will be a soft button on the LCD screen that I believe says "favorites" that's how you access those screens. Mess around with the remote for awhile and you'll find many of the features are intuitive and will reveal themselves with a little use. Enjoy your new remote! ,R On February 24, 2008 at 20:47, acillatem said...

Now I feel bad asking, I should have just tried it, like you said. Thanks again for your help, and the icons look cool as hell on the remote dude...........thanks for your work. It is truly an awesome remote!

Just make sure for the Channel up and down buttons you have specified the DVR control from the pulldown menu. You were right the first time. When you set up a "watch TV" or "watch PVR" almost the first thing you're asked is what device you use to change channels. Then when the setup is done you find that the channel up and down buttons are already set to control the PVR. You don't need to specify them again at "customise buttons".

Like you said, it got done, and I appreciate your help. I'm having problems with it using the toggle power for the tv when I set it up to use the discrete buttons(think that's how you say it)..........and it was working fine. Now it won't turn on the TV for any activity requiring it to.................I'm ready to take it back, unless tech support fixes it in the morning. Thank you again.
