Harmony web site is changed. One consequence is; you can no longer add multiple commands to one button!

Darn! The "a**holes" struck again. I will have to teach all my activity multiple commands into a single command name using the 2 remotes technique.

Whre was that feature? I recall adding multiple commands to starting an activity, but not multiple commands on one button.

I hope that's a bug on the website.

You probably didn't realize it was there .... but on the page where you mapped IR commands to a button in an activity there was nothing (other than convention) stopping you from mapping commands from more than one device to a single button. On the new web site this is now not possible.

I hope that's a bug on the website.

I doubt it ..... I first noticed this restriction when someone posted some pictures for configuring the new Harmony 1000. I suspect that they have now "rationalized" this change to all harmony models. I can see that this will really annoy the people who are making use of this feature.

This really blows for those of us that have been using multiple devices to create a "pseudo commercial skip" on the SA8300HD DVR boxes! I hadn't quite tweaked mine the way I wanted it yet.

Does the client software still allow for it?

wow.. I just took a look, and it's terrible!

And I wonder why they even bother to give dropdowns for device selection when looking at the picture and sound menus.

Being a former programmer myself, I understand why they changed it. They no longer have to dynamically format the web page based on the devices in an activity. Now the page is the same and only the dropdowns need to be different. I've been tolerant of other changes and features in the past but this one really stinks because so many of us have been using that feature. e.g. I send a lighting command to raise and lower the lights when you hit pause and play while watching a DVD.

This feature is even listed in the 6xx user's guide:

Add a custom-labeled button to send a command to more than one device at a time:
1. Select a command from the drop-down list in each of the required device columns next to the name of the button you want to set.

COMPLAIN - LOUDLY.

Playing around with the site yesterday and it looks like this is their method to add commands to an activity without those commands propagating across all activities with those devices. This would address an issue people have been asking for. Looks like we're not happy with the solution.

I think more people will be happy without the propogation and with it but I guess we'll see now that the feature no longer exists.

Can you still do what we want with the client-based application?

No, both applications now behave the same.
New S/W additional consequence: In the "Adjust Inputs" for the direct method, there is no longer a provision to send more than one command.

did anyone QC this ? After 5 minutes of looking around, I can tell you that selecting the 'Picture Menu' or 'Sound Menu' and then pushing Standard Buttons or Additional Buttons does not work like it should.

There is no "client-based application", it is just a thin wrapper around the web interface.

(Note: "thin" refers to functionality, not its considerable bloat)
Logitech Harmony remotes are Crippleware.
