Thanks jlet. Unfortunately I still cannot see where I can tell the configurator to perform another Harmony command for a particular button. I can see how I could change the IR signal out to do anything I want, but that is not what I want to do. I want to remap one button to do something another button currently does on the remote itself, not a device (like if I wanted 'Activities' to do 'Help').

Basically I want to map a button to do 'Favorite Channels' on the remote itself, like the 88x remotes do.

Looks like this is not possible :-(

You can't remap certain system buttons like Media, Device or Activities. You can only remap the ones that send IR commands.

With the propriatary HK software, does it give you the option of creating channel buttons like the 880 does. I just ordered an HK for myself, but programed an 880 lastnight for a friend and was surprised to find a screen which let me do 8 favorite channels using channel logos. Shows up when you press lists on the remote and works great. Am assuming same option is there for the TC30, but don't have mine yet.

I would also like to know if it has the channel logo's like the Harmony 720. Looks like more of a Harmony 550 clone than a 720.

I really like the looks of the TC30 better & looks like the button label wearing off problem of the 720 would not be an issue.

This works for the Harmony 880.
When you create a activity "Watch TV" a link will appear "Set Up Favorite channels"
There you can add the pictures for your favorites

This guy did a lot of work generating logo's ready to load.

yeah, I downloaded a lot of his stuff to use on my buddies 880 I just setup. From what I understand, the TC is a remote that looks like the 550, but has the inerds of the 880... or so I hope.

I was hoping for a response from someone who actually knows for sure what this remote does. Will it work like a Harmony 720 or the 550 which it more closely resembles & much less "powerfull"?

Rex Diamnd: I managed somehow to get in to logitechs
configurator, and there I could change settings
so I got one activity/device per line. I also
got diffrent icons when I did this.
I only got it to work with IE (not firefox that
I usually use)
Dont know if this work, but its worth a try.
Plug in the remote in the USB port of your computer
Go to logitechs loginpage and login with your
harman kardon username and password.
You will be redirected H/K´s site.
Close the window (dont logout)
Then go to this site (logitechs "test drive" site
for harmony) test
drive

Now you should be able to edit the settings you
want.

It works fine for me. Good luck!

I gave it a shot, but I wasn’t able to make it work.
When I go to Logitech’s site and log on with my HK name and password, it says:
“We have detected that you are using a browser that has not been fully tested for use with this web site. Users will experience problems accessing some portions of the web site when using browsers that have not been tested. Please be sure to use the remote software to access the correct browser. “
Then I get to HK’s general website.
When I try to use the “Harmony Test Drive” link you provided, it won’t let me proceed as it says my username logon already exists. Do I have to create a new account in “test drive”?

Any ideas on how to proceed?

I just got this to work late last night, and in Firefox even!

The trick is to leave the browser tab open showing the error message about the unsopported browser. From start to finish, here are the steps:

1) Open the "standard" Harmony login page: [Link: members.harmonyremote.com]

2) Login using your user ID and password for the TC30.

3) You WANT to see an error message about using an unsupported browser. If you get this error, do NOT click NEXT on but instead proceed to step 4.

If you did NOT get the error message, but instead get redirected to the Harman Kardon login page, go to Tools > Options > View Cookies. Enter "members.harmony" in the search field and remove the cookies from the members.harmony site. Try Steps 1 to 3 again.

4) Click this next link to open the TestDrive site in a new tab: [Link: members.harmonyremote.com]

5) You should immediately see your devices and activities for the TC30 within the the "traditional" Logitech Harmony web interface.

6) Have fun!

I have to say - what a pleasure it is to use the "tradtional" interface again, especially since I can again use the Firefox mod that allows soft-keys to be moved up and down!

Works GREAT!
Thank you for taking the time to post this hack.

wow firefox!
I got to try this one out.
I just got it to work in internet exploder.
but I´m glad to see that "my hack" worked in firefox as well.

BTW does anyone know if it somehow is possible to upload custom icons to use with activities.
I also want to create a activity and have a "shortcut" to this activity from another activity. is this doable
Unfurtunatley i think I already know the answers in these questions.
NO/NO

There´s a couple of themes one can use ( on logitechs site) would be great if one can make own themes.

Well, all credit to you for reporting the initial "hack" with the Test Drive site!

You will love using Firefox, especially if you use the Firefox mod listed in this thread: [Link: remotecentral.com]

Makes life much easier when you are first setting up your devices and activities and want to re-arrange the soft keys.

I think the answer is NO on the custom graphics, other than a background.

BTW - I noticed that when I used the Logitech Harmony interface with the TC30 that I have the option to disable icons that appear on the remote display for Activities. I don't recall seeing this option when using the HK interface, so I have to double-check. I tried the activities without the icons, because sometimes it's hard to see the text, but the icons make the activity easier to spot so I reverted back to using them. (Wow. That's a long sentence!)

The trick does not work for me.
:(
Maybe because I´m in sweden.
I tried everything. I´m still redirected to H/K´s site
But I can use IE to log in and setup everything I need. then go to firefox and re-arrange my buttuns as I want. a little bit awkward, but it works.

I also noticed the logitechs option to remove the icons, but I prefer to have them on.
But the other option is a little more useful:
Show only 4 activities/devices in the LCD instead of 8.
The font get bigger and it´s really easy to navigate.
But i suppose that it´s quite bad when you have lot of activities/devices

Does anyone know how to revert the learned codes for a device?
I played around and tried to learn IR codes frpm my original remote.
But I found that the code in the Database worked better.
how do I get this code back?
I can´t find it in the GUI.
Is it even possible? or will I have to delete my device and insert it all again?
(lot of work)

The safest thing to do is to delete the device then add it back. If you don't mind taking a chance, try the fake "IR Analysis Centre" trick. It has the side effect of deleting all previously learnt commands leaving you with only the last learnt one. The trick is described here: [Link: remotecentral.com]
