Just got my 880... cool lookin' thing... took it out of the box, inserted battery, plugged in charging base, left on charge overnight! Come downstairs 10 hours later and there's only one bar in the battery icon and the LED is lit... I took it out of the base and BLAMMO!... light shuts off and nothing works! What am I doin' wrong? Please, anyone???

Thanks for reading my ranting:

Mine did exactly the same thing. I did some testing and found the battery was dead dead flat and wasnt charging via the base station. I my case I charged the battery using my camera charger, same voltage etc and after 30 mins put the battery back in the remote. Since the "jump start" I've not had another problem. Unless you can do something similar i would try leaving it in the base station longer. Some people suggest a small piece of cardboard jammed behind the battery to press the terminals hard against the remote contacts. Alternatively it could be a faulty battery.
