Hello

I'm brand new to this forum. However I have been reading some time now.

I have a 525 remote but I can't get the setup to work. The problem comes when the tutorial want's to "check connection". The webinterface opens and says "plug the USB cable into your Harmony or press any button....". That how long I can go through the setup.
I have tried Nscape browser, another computer, updating my JAVA, but nothing helps...

When I plug the cable in, my computer reacts and tells that the new hardware is ready to be used.

I'm running XP

Hoping for some help

Did you use the front USB ports? Is so try the ones in the rear directly connected to the motherboard.

Thank you for your answer. However I only have USB on the back of my computer. My building has a shared wifi connection, which means that I am not connected to the Internet through cable but thorugh wifi.
Do you think that could be the problem?

Have you turned off the XP firewall software?

Hi,

Did you get to the bottom of this as I have the same issue?

I am running XP, have disabled Norton & zone alarm, deactivated all pop up blockers. Tried all USB ports (front & back) but no luck.

I am waiting for a responce from logitech support.

Topsy

I had the same problem. After 45 minutes on phone with the support they found the problem. I had installed the software directly from the webpage, not from the cd. Therefore I got an account not compatible with Harmony 525. The support changed my account to match 525, when I then choose to download the software from the webpage I got version 5.x instead of 4.x.
Another solution should be to uninstall the not working software and install from the cd.

I am having the exact same problem with the 890. have spent well over 10 hours of time, not including 4 hours on the phone four separate times with Logitech customer support, and I still cannot get the remote and RF extender updated with information which needs to be downloaded from Logitech's website through the USB cable attached to the remote and wireless extender. I have disabled all firewalls and anti-virus programs. Still didn't work.

Then customer support told me it must be a firewall in my wireless router so they recommended bypassing the router. So, I set up a new internet account on my home computer to bypass the router. Still didn't work.

Finally, I called a computer expert who came over to my house and spent another hour and a half and tried to set it up through every possible USB port on three different computers. Still no luck.

I downloaded the software from the disc, so that's not the problem either.

Anyone able to actually solve this problem? Because Logitech customer support can't, nor can a computer expert.
