Hello all,

As the head of sales for Intrigue Technologies I usually end up dealing with the various issues regarding the sale of our remotes (and the occational return :-). We have our own web store for selling Harmony Remotes as do many of the reputable Internet retailers that advertise on Remote Central.

Every once in a while there is a customer that will purchase from a dealer and not look at the fine print with respect to the return policies etc.

For example, a customer bought a Harmony from a Internet discount store recently (at a very low price). After receiving the remote, he decided that the Harmony Remote was not what he was looking for. He subsequently asked to return it and they refused a refund but offered a store credit. This is not an uncommon practice and quite equitable by many standards. Unfortunately, it is not acceptable for some.

He has contacted both myself and the Internet retailer to try and appeal their policy.

Firstly, I don't have control over the merchandise return policy of any retailer. If a customer doesn't buy it from me I don't have the money to refund.

Secondly, I know that there are many Web Retailers that are very aware of the importance of customer service and many reviews on this forum (and others) that can be a source for reviewing which retailer is right for a respective buyer.

If you feel it's appropriate, please voice your thoughts, experience or opinion on Web retailers. Tell about whomever you bought your remote from so new customers don't have an unfortunate experience. In addition, we will continue to work closely with authorized dealers to ensure a positive experience for Harmony Remote Customers.

If you're selling for full price, and the internet retailer is offering 10% off, or more, I might be tempted to save the money.

What, precisely, are the incentives you're offering me (us) to spend that extra 10% with you? (I understand your suggesting that you have a better return policy. Could you spell it out?)

1) buyer beware, know what you are getting into

many of the advertisers on this site have the Harmony at less then full price.
