I've noticed that a lot of the people on this forum don't like just home theater toys, but also computer toys, or sporting toys. Let me tell you about my toy.

My toy was (note, past tense) a beautiful 1991 Camaro Z28.

I moved out of my parents house a few months ago, and put my Camaro in storage near their house for the winter (it does unbelievably horrible on snowy roads, but mostly I just didn't want to expose her to the elements).

During this time off from Cammy (my car's name), I started really admiring Jeeps. They're cool looking cars, and good in the winter, fun in the summer. I started looking more and more seriously, and that winter beater I was driving was getting less and less appealing as Jeeps became more appealing. Eventually I had to come to a decision.

Now, this decision made complete sense to me, and still does. First, I'm 21, and Cammy was a 350 Z28. Insurance companies don't like that. Insurance would have been $270/month. With the threat of gas prices skyrocketing this summer and Cammy getting about 12 mpg, that wouldn't be cheap either. Cammy requires premium gas, to top it all off.

Plus my building doesn't have good parking, so I'd have to park it in a back alley next to a ton of drunken stupid college kids who will have no respect for her. No garage means doordings, faded paint, rust, and all these things Cammy didn't have.

Since Cammy had been in storage for a few months, I felt enough distance from her to make the jump... put her on eBay. She generated quite a bit of interest, because '91s are kind of a special edition, and the edition all 3rd generation Camaros strive to be.

Well, a guy from Ohio flew in to pick Cammy up a few weeks ago, and I used the money to buy a new Jeep. I thought the new Jeep would make me happy, but alas, it hasn't.

Cammy was like a person, but the Jeep is just a car. I'm starting to regret selling her, even though I know the guy who bought her will take good care of her. Last I heard, he had taken out all the interior to detail her, and buffed the entire car, as well as ordering new turn signal covers (I swear I was going to do that) and other minor repairs. He also owns a 1st, 2nd, and 4th generation Camaro. Cammy will compliment his collection nicely, I'm sure.

But still, as I look at a picture of her on my Windows desktop, I can't help but think I'll regret selling her when I'm older.

So what do you think? Have you guys ever had to give up one of your toys, especially a car, and later regret it? Please, help me not feel so bad for giving up my girl.

Name a Jeep? I thought Jeep WAS a name!

But Joe, or Jenny, or June might sound fitting. Try them out.

Keep your Jeep. It'll grow on you. Get a good job, save your money, put a few years on you. If you still want that camaro you can probably buy it back.

Did you finally find a surgeon who'd surgically attach it, edmund?   Besides, we already realize your toys are in the attic. Welcome aboard, you'll fit right in here.

I bought a 79 Suziki GS750 in a bunch of boxes (stuff missing front end stuffed) . For 50 bucks
It took me over a year and a half to revive her and build the piss out of her. I put a GS1000 front end , forks stem brakes the
whole front end. Had to machine down the stem for new bearing races to fit .Ton of fun stuff .

At the time I was helping a brit riding buddy out that owned a Motorcycle Recycling buiesness ,so anything I could use that was
my year and make I got dibs on. (it still took a year and a half)
Another brit riding buddy would come into the shop and say "You can't polish a turd" He ate his words when it was done.
Put oversized pistons in ,open air carbs , vance and hines exaust and lots of other speed mods (It would get arm wrenching tank
slappers that would start at 135 mph and stop at 137 . (steering stabilizer might have helped)
On top of her skin was a fire engine red custom paint job .
She had a personality like no other bike I have ridden since.
I sold her for a twenty fold profit .
The next day the guy that took custody got cut off and laid her to rest on the 405 freeway.
He was unharmed. She was not.
He was on his way to the shop so I could take some pics. Murphy's Law ?

Her name was

SUZI :-(

I also did the same with a 91 yz 250 which I took second place in the trophy series at lacr and edwards afb in 1998 . Her name was whitie because I put all white platic on her .

Now I have a 1999 yz 250 I bought new in the shipping crates. This one I call trigger :-)

I've named all my cars. They don't have to have people names though...

My car now is a lil 4 cylinder Honda Civic. We call her The Rocket Car.

My good friend Joe has a Centra... and she's Centra Power. And then my frined Jon's mom has a tiny Saturn... we call that the Plastic Car. I think you should name your vehicle after it's attributes instead of just assigning it a name.

(My ex-boyfriend's Mustang was named Christine though... and that was nice. We called her Chris.) :)

I agree! I have a Mercedes SUV, which I call "Minivan".
