I used work at a tropical centre when i was at college and we kept all sorts of animals for sale.The sad thing is that you start working at a pet store because you like animals but the amount of cruelty at those places is amazing for example if its not big eyed and furry people dont seem to care as much .I found out that some marine fish were captured from there natural habitat by some guy chucking dynamite on to reefs and collecting the stunned fish! Fish transported from singapore often arrived dead and or diseased the owner of the store used to say that they were so cheap it didnt matter as the ones that survived made a good profit. Then there are the owners of tropical fish who just buy anything because it looks pretty or evil not knowing what water quality it requires or what fish it is compatible with "oh that angel fish you sold me ate all my little neon tetras" well when i asked what fish you had you said "oh its all right i know about fish sonny just bag it up " The amount of cruelty at your average pet store is beyond belief with staff who either dont know or dont care with customers who buy pets like they buy a tin of beans.this is just the tip of the ice burg i could tell you storys that would make your toes curl
