What would stop the guy from driving his car into the coffee shop? Would it be any less of a war zone? A motor vehicle is far more dangerous than a gun, and kills a hell of lot more people.
If you take out the gang bangers, we are not any worse with gun violence than Europe. There is no gun control law that is going to curb gang violence. Getting them out of poverty is the only way to solve that problem.
We need to take care of our mentally ill. As far as the cause of some of these shootings being notoriety, just look at the stats. There has been a school shooting on average for every school week since Sandy Hook. Sandy Hook got a ton of media exposure. These nut jobs see that, and they want the same attention.

Let them shoot themselves all they want anyways. Darwin ism will take care of that problem. There is no gun control law that is going to curb gang violence.
