This happened about 1 mile from my buddy's house in a suburb of Portland.  Really scary.  Our country has gotten completely out of control.

It becomes a bit scarier when it is in your backyard. Newtown is in mine and we got to see first hand the pain that these tragic events cause.

What's the point of moving a post if the forum in which it is not a topic still contains a link to it? It will be interesting to see if the link in the Installers Forum jumps up to the top, meaning it might as well be there. That link should just sink to the bottom over there.

edit: well, good! It did not move up after I posted. Good job.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I imagine that it will only show up in the old place for several hours to a day.

BTW, thank you for moving it.

It is time to do something about mental illness. It doesn't matter if it is a left winger or a right winger that goes in and shoots up a school or any public place. They are all bat shit crazy. The 24hr media which includes Fox, CNN, and the 100 or so people watching MSBNC are all responsible too. These shooters think they are going to be famous. The 24 networks are more than happy to oblige them and make money off of them. Until we unite as a country to tackle mental illness, and the news networks agree not to make these shooters famous, it will continue.

Someone should see a therapist for his need for attention

I agree but I'm not sure about the being famous part, I think it's more about getting revenge and making the survivors think about the way they treated the shooter before the shooting occurred. "maybe if I was nice to billy he wouldn't have shot ......."

Newtown, I think that kid took it out on those that he felt his mom liked more then him.

Its a desire to be famous. To be remembered by all those that did them wrong or ignored them. One network had a shrink that got into it all once. Later I heard Pierce Morgan on a radio interview and when cornered he actually admitted to the media pandering for ratings and the 24 hr news cycle being part of the problem. But in the next breath went "but, but, we have a duty to report the news". Like he was trying to justify is own guilt.

2 students were shot at a school by my house last week, one died one critical, in a nice quiet area.

In 2012 the coffee shop / bar that have always gone to, two doors down from where I work in a super laid back neighborhood, a guys walks in point blank kills 4 while they were eating their morning breakfast, having coffee and reading the morning paper (Cafe Racer), then the guy goes to another part of Seattle and shoots and kills an innocent mother, then turns the gun on himself.

The cafe is owned by a super nice guy and employs young neighborhood girls. The place looked like a war-zone.

The guy was pissed because he was acting strange the day before and he felt one of the young waitresses was ignoring him. BTW the owner and a cook were also shot but survived-physically, but now kind of live in fear of shooters.

Guns in the hands of mentally ill, and gangstas kill- for the most part.

My son and his buddies had to duck behind cars last year as they got stuck in crossfire between two groups. 14,000 people a year is not a small number.

I ride public transit to work, and there are a LOT of crazies that climb on the bus... and recently a bus driver was shot.

Think I'll move to a remote part of Brazil, as I don't see it getting any better.

I said a remote area. Brazil is not 5 times though. It is number two behind the U.S.

Wow, you don't know how to read crime stats.

And why would I be empathetic to your need for attention?

Sorry, it's 5 times. Google it.

The US does have the most deaths by guns than any other country.
