Let's all wish Erin well!!!

She was just recently in a head-on crash.

She was going about 40-45 mph and a car ran a stop sign, was on the wrong side of the road, going about 35 mph. They hit head on. Her car was spun around and completely totaled.

In her words: "My face broke the steering wheel and my lips are busted open. The seat belt broke my sternum and cut/brused my hips and stomach real bad (no internal bleeding however) and I have a horrible migraine. I may have had a light concussion.

I was extremly blessed because my injuries were not as serious as they should have been - the fireman said he was surprised all of us survived the accident. I was rushed away to the Trauma center in a c-brace, taped to the board with an IV and oxygen...the whole 9 yards. It really sucked and now I have no car."

--------

Tough cookie, eh? She's all busted up and she's worried about no car! That our CV!!! :-)

Erin: Take care and get yourself better! I for one am thinking about you!

... Greg :-)

Greg, is there anyway we can send our love and best wishes that Erin might see?

Larry: Her email is [email protected]

I'll be sending her a nice online card, although she says she won't be checking the computer too much for a while.

But if we send cards, they'll be waiting for her when she does get back to the computer.

....

:)

I dont know what to say but thank you. :) My body is recovering fine.... I'm very brused up but the worst of it all is my headaches. Last night I went to the ER again because I've had a constant migrane that hasn't gone away for over three days now... the doctor perscribed me Vikaden Extra Strength and Valume (I dont know if I"m spelling these right but I hope so and I hope you can read through all my typing errors). I went in and had a C-T Scan (cat scan_ and it came out fine... they conclueded that I had gotten a concusion and probably brused my brain from jerking my head around so much in the accident. There was no brain damage however. (Which is good...I think I have enough of that damage already.) ;)

I will try to check my email about ohnce a day... I will be out of work for about another 5 days. (I guess thats a perk but I know as soon as I go back there will be a huge stack of stuff waiting for me! :P Thas never fun.)

Anyways... thanks again for all of your support. :)

Sorry to hear about your accident, but at least you're okay (Cars can be replaced, people can't :)) Hope you manage to shake those migraines

Hitting a steering wheel with your face is never fun, I've smacked my head into the headliner during an accident in '96 and hit the airbag during a vicous accident in '99, given my choice? I'll take the airbag.

Take care of yourself

My best wishes go out to you as well. My sister was in a car crash a few years back and it's no fun thing. Even though the Seat bealt saved her life it also cased her harm by cutting right through her Colon.

Anyway, I hope you get better soon.

CV, we're all keeping our fingers crosssed for a speedy recovery, although it does make typing really difficult. However, for your reading pleasure, some misspelled words in this thread corrected:

Vicodin
Valium
Bruised
Colon

Don't ask how I know how the drugs are spelled. It's a secret.

Erin, don't forget that the insurance companies will sound like they want to help you. They get paid to dole out as little money as possible. Do what the commercials say - HIRE a LAWYER!! A lawyer will get you more money than it will cost you to hire one. It pays for itself.

Following up with what Larry said, get thee a lawyer lest you be torn asunder by the sharks that infest the insurance companies (Trust me, it takes a shark to catch a shark ;))

Sorry for sounding like Shakespeare there but seriously, in a serious accident like yours, a lawyer is the only way to protect yourself from the insurance companies (Heck, I have it even worse here in Ontario, we have to be protected from our *own* insurance companies >P, my claim is at the "pay up or we go to court and tear you a new airhole" and it's only taken nearly two years to get here LOL)

CV,

YES, YES, YES, an attorney is a must. Are criminal charges filed against the other driver?

Please get better. Love ya.

We are actually trying to do this WITHOUT a lawyer... but remember, lol I work as a legal Administrator and have the whle legal company haleping me through this (we don't want te hassel... lol and I dont want to pay the 1/3)

The company is not argueing whos fault it is, they fully take balme. They have already given us a rental car until I buy one and are paying me for pain and suffering... I have over a year and a half to settle the calim and I dont think we will settle untill we (being my family and I) are positive no more related injuries have occured. *sigh* My dad has taken control for me which is nice... and he has told the insurance companies flat out that if we get jerked around at all - or if we dont get enough money then we are taking them to court. :P

:) Thanks all for your support again.
