The top environmental scientist was on TV the other day... We're kind of screwed anyway you look at it...

He said, that if we quit using cars and burning coal, and all that stuff tomorrow... the continuing global warming would continue for at least a decade anyway, just due to all the crap up there already.

So it's like really bad right now?

Couple weeks ago the local paper ran a story about the next sunspot cycle beginning, said the cycles last about 11 years. But not one word about the fact that sunspots indicate increased solar activity.

Ah, the rationale that some experts give (one that I tend agree with, by the way) as the major contributor to the recent warming period. It also irritates me that there seems to be little in the way of balanced reporting; that paragon of virtue, the BBC, are terrible for it.

April 2008 was the coldest April on record the past ten years. If global warming gets any worse, we're all going to freeze to death!

Global warming... do i dare? As Joe Common Folk i have no idea whats really going on.. do i listen to the 'were all gonna die if we dont act now' or do i listen to the 'global warming? ha! what a joke'. My access to climate change info is via the media and the media does a piss poor job of making sense of it.

Ok so lets assume that were not causing the planet to warm up.. Were damn sure causing water and air pollution. It wont matter what the temperature is when we cant survive a drink of water or a deep breath.

Screw it. We'll all be dead here in 60 years or less ... so let's party like it's 1999!

I used to point to the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland as an example of how far we have come in cleaning up pollution(it caught on fire back in 1969 and burned for a month) but then I saw this today. [Link: blog.cleveland.com]

A quote from the article:
"Meanwhile, hundreds of sludge-smeared gulls -- already dead or dying slowly -- were still floating on the waters of the Cuyahoga River. Most of them are just downstream from the site where environmentalists this week celebrated the stream's remarkable comeback since the June 22, 1969, river fire."

Why should the press report the truth! There was another river caught that caught fire if I remember correctly. During the 70s we had those terrible winters with record snow falls. My cousin drives 18 wheelers and one time the snow was so bad that he had to stop - in an 18 wheeler - make his way up to a farm house and ended up staying there stuck int he snow for a week. All you heard about on the news was we were headed toward a nuclear winter. It is amazing how the press/lefts agenda ignores the facts. The environment improved under Bush but god forbid that the fools in the press acknowledge this.

I never really watch TV but i will often have it on for background noise while im working. Once i started listening to this show where a research team talked about the pollution in the water and how it was deforming frogs in just about every fresh water supply in the world. Were drinking the same water. I have often joked about wanting another pair of hands but come on now..

These deformities have been around for a good number of years now. Theories ranged from the ozone hole to pollution. Recently scientists have come up with a likely culprit, Trematodes. [Link: kie.berkeley.edu]

But it's just another theory.

Every problem in the environment can be traced back to your birth-control-pill-taking-girlfriend's piss.

The stuff goes right through every single water treatment plant that exists and ends up in our food. We're Gonna DIE!!!! With three frog's legs!!!!
