I am trying to set up my pronto with discete power for my Panasonic 300U projector. Has anyone had any luck with discrete power control for this projector? I did a search on this forum that hasnt turned anything up. Help is greatly appriciated.

I am, by no means, an expert at this, but I've had very good luck recently with finding commands. If you want, send me a .ccf file with a couple learned buttons from the original remote (properly labeled, of course) and I'll see what I can work out.

There is a file for a PT-L300U in the files section with a very few commands but it tells me that it uses a variation on the usual Panasonic protocol but with 56 data bits rather than the customary 48 (that Panasonic seems to be using in it's projectors). These commands are generated using the 56-bit protocol and the typical discrete power commands.

Please let me know if these work. If any work I suspect it will be these. Also if you post the Pronto hex for your power toggle command here it will confirm my decoding of the other file.

That format is so close to the regular pronto format (at least in this case I just recalculated the "frequency" in MakeHex) and re-ran the commands. I generated the Power toggle and it looks just like yours.

Your protocol is the 56 data bit version.

I tried the suggested codes and they did not work. Anyone else want to give the suggested codes a try and post their results? Perhaps the 300U does not have discrete On/Off codes......

The only other experience that I have had with this protocol (Panasonic AE-100 projector) was that the equipment didn't respond to discrete commands.

I just looked back to that discussion in the JP1 group and this may help from Alain screen name "tuquoquefili" who had the AE-100.

"It seems that the device is a bit different. For example power signal sent twice equals discrete power-off and sent once equals discrete power-on."

I believe that Alain had searched all 256 commands in 128.72.

Hopefully the sent once/sent twice macro may work for you as well. I hadn't remembered this part just the 56-bit protocol.

Yes, unfortunately I have to use the power toggle command for powering the projector on/off. I have a macro set up so on is one signal and off is two with a delay in between (.5 seconds). The reason this works is that when the projector is on and it recieves the power off signal it prompts you to power off and a second signal confirms it.

You really can't use this as a discrete command in macro's however becasue if you send the off command when the projector is already off, it will turn the projector on. I have modified my PCF to include the power on/off for the projector on the main page and then macros control all my other compentents based on the selecton of source. Not exactly what I wanted, but it does work well. I'll be sure to send it in to remote central after Daniel upgrades the server and can begin to post more files.
