I need seperate on/off commands for this very nice receiver, but Mcintosh kinda forgot to put them on any known remote. Any help in turning this $5000 monster on and off would be nice

There is a very nice file here with all commands for a number of Mcintosh devices done by Chuck Hinton:

These are the commands that you asked for:

Stephane,

I don't know if you looked at the word document in the file from the link. It looks pretty official. The protocol is NEC1 so you can decode them just like Yamaha (the second byte that defaults to the complement of the device is the sub-device in this case). You might post your power toggle command and let's see if it uses the same device code.

I've been told by Mcintosh that the MHT-100 didn't have discrete power codes via IR. If you plan on controlling it RS-232 via plan on spacing out the data. The buffer will overload and cause problems.

I thank you all for the advice but i've tried the codes jon mentioned They don't work I'vew used a xantech ir to rs-232 module which turned it on an doff but i also had to flasher the thing for volume control because of the above mentioned buffer overflow, I just don't get some of these companies investing all this time and money into these products but never actually taking into consideration how any of it will work in the real world especially with anyone elses equipment. I don't know what half of them are thinking when they quickly release products usually without properly testing them in a real life situation. Anyway sorry about the rant!!!!
