I thank you all for the advice but i've tried the codes jon mentioned They don't work I'vew used a xantech ir to rs-232 module which turned it on an doff but i also had to flasher the thing for volume control because of the above mentioned buffer overflow, I just don't get some of these companies investing all this time and money into these products but never actually taking into consideration how any of it will work in the real world especially with anyone elses equipment. I don't know what half of them are thinking when they quickly release products usually without properly testing them in a real life situation. Anyway sorry about the rant!!!!
