I need some help figuring out descrete codes for inputs. The factory remote control does not have specific buttons for inputs but one "input" button that you have to hit many times to select the specific input.

This is killing me in setting up my pronto.

I did find a pdf file on the quadscan that lists hexidecimal codes for the many functions but these are real short compared to what is learned when I show IR in Pronto Edit.

example is
Input set to channel A S-VHS

07 for input source register
05 for selecting A S-VHS
0d for

How do I get the pronto to recognize this string?

I am obviusly missing something, can someone point me in the right direction.

thanks
Rich

Rich,

The only IR commands that I could find are these:

Button Number Button Name Hex/Decimal Code
Button 1 H/V pos/size 0xFEh
Button 2 Input Mode 0xFDh
Button 3 Motion 0xFBh
Button 4 Video Function 0xF7h
Reset Reset 0xAFh
Trigger Aspect Ratio 0x5Fh

I looks like these are just the commands on the OEM remote that can be learned. I couldn't find any further information with a Google search other than the link you posted.

I scanned the manual and it looks like it has a rich command set using RS-232, but only some lame toggle commands using IR.

Why don't you call or email the manufacturer to confirm one way or the other. I once controlled a Viewsonic Projector with RS232 commands and it was very reliable. It took some setting up though. I recall seing some shareware written for RS232 projector control but I do not have a link. Hopefully some one else here may know.

Let me know where you saw the commands that you originally posted.

Thanks Jon

I will send a message to support to get some clearity around these codes.

Page 35 of the manual was the break down of the codes but these might be for the rs232.
