I'v been reading all over the internet that the old white remote and its defalut codes will control this new device. I am having no luck with that...I think that the new peanut remote has its very own code set, and its even missing a few buttons..

I use a pronto system, and Id like to learn in all the codes, but I cant find "LIST" or power on discrete, power off discrete. Also, for some odd reason, learning these button by shooting IR into my pronto is not very accurate. While it reports ok...when I try it, it don't work the first time.

If someone has the hex codes for these, I sure would love it if you posted them up or us...

ON
OFF
LIST
UP
DOWN
LEFT
RIGHT
FF
REW
ADVANCE

I can probabaly learn all these with enough trial and error, but if someone already has a working hex set, sure would be easier to cut/past them into my pronto.

Thanks much...

(THR22-100 on DVR1---I think thats the factory setting).

For cleaner learns using the white directv remote, try the following:

1. dtv
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release
3. enter 0 0 0 0 1

Now turn off the remote ID signal sent with each commmand:

1. dtv
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release
3. enter 9 6 3
4. press CH DOWN

try reteaching.

Ok....

I'm still really confused here. Am I to understand that the white remote will control a THR22-100? Cuz mine sure as heck dosen't?

Yes the new tivo responds to the same codeset as the Directv branded receivers. But there will be certain keys that don't, like the power commands, tivos don't have them.

But if your White remote were set to RF mode, or an alternate IR codeset from 00002-00008, the remote won't work.

But just programming in code 00001, will take the remote out of RF mode, and set it to default codeset, will it should control it.

I tried the MUTE SEL 00001 and it did all the proper blinking.

But even still the THR22 completely ignores all signals from this white remote. I might have set my THR22 to use an alternet code set inadvertenly, its currently set to 1 in IR mode.

The new peanut remote is fine. I guess I can just learn codes off of it. Its seems a bit flakey when I do this on the buttons I listed. But if I keep at it, eventualy I get a clean learn that works as it should. Sometimes I get a "double push" learned code tho and that kinda makes driving with the pronto tricky.

Thanks for the help. I did see in another post there is a hex code for ON and OFF. I will give those a shot. I sure would like one for LIST too---the new peanut remote droped the list button....not sure why?

Totaly not sure how I did this, but I got the white remote to work. And with your tips, I got it to be the source of learn codes that are much cleaner. I even found another post with ON and OFF that work, and was able to use the LIST button on the white remote.

Very happy. Thank you very much.

I got all but 6 of them. I am trying to learn on a L5 remote (add on for ios device). Unfortunately, the L5 isn't willing to learn from the supplied remote (throws an error immediately). I did use one of the white directv remotes, and was able to capture all the codes for buttons they have in common. If someone can create pronto codes for the following 6 buttons that the white remotes don't have, I would be delighted.

"live tv"
"zoom"
"thumbs up"
"thumbs down"
"clear"
"slow"

To make life more interesting I have the receiver number set to #1, which is apparently not the default. (and if someone could identify what changes when the receiver number does, so I can be ready when I replace the other ones, bonus points.)

L5 tries to hide much of the info. For example, I can't see the pronto codes for what it has learned. The only way to add a pronto code is to type it into their web site, etc...

Pressing Tivo & Pause then #1 is the default codeset, which matches the default codeset 00001 in the white remotes. True tivos have an address zero, but the THR22-100 does not.

If you have UEI made remote that takes EFC's see this post:

If the link helped, and you used the OBC's listed, 206 falls in right in the middle. Or try 201 or 208?

I started with a .rmdu file I found on hifi-remote.com, which sufficed to identify which entries from a .hex file to use. (apparently the original supplier for the boxes was russound)

Unfortunately, it appears there are some errors in the rmdu file. Slowmo wasn't the code they said it would be, same for clear. it was right about the thumbs, live/swap and zoom.

Any suggestions on how to work from the obc's to which functions in the .hex?
