Has anyone been able to capture the IR codes for the Motorola DCX3400 used by Comcast? I can not find the codes for "My DVR" and "Swap" buttons for my Pronto. The Pronto (for some reason) can not learn the codes from the Motorola system, everything else seems to work.

Jason, that was very helpful, thanks. For some reason, the learnt IR code for SWAP simply didn't work... but your code does.

Now I need to find the code for On Demand and I'll be all set.

The DCX3400 actually responds to two different IR protocols-- General Instruments device 0, and XMP device 62.16.

The Comcast supplied remote sends the XMP protocol (setup code 01982) which can be quite difficult to learn. Jason provided the GI IR protocol, and the Pronto Hex above is also GI.

If you want to exactly duplicate the IR protocol being sent by the Comcast remote, I can provide those Pronto Hex codes. I'm not aware of any particular reason to use XMP rather than GI.

The XMP codes are in this Thread, Post 11 and 16 if you want them.

3FG - I would appreciate any more of the pronto hex codes. The three on this page seem to work perfectly for my DCX 3400. The ones referenced in the other thread post 11 and 16 do not work at all.

I've been searching up and down the web looking for the "skip" or "advance" code. I've enabled the 30 second skip on the Comcast Tivo DCX3400 and it works from the Comcast Tivo remote, but I can't get it to work on my remote that I'm programming

So does - anybody have the code for Skip (also known as Advance) or the "->|" key??

Where are you getting the function codes and doing your hex generation from?

Do you also have the XMP codes? I have the spreadsheet for generating the XMP hex.

We already know that the DCX3400 reesponds to the traditional GI Cable IR protocol or to the XMP protocol. I don't know if a 30 second skip is implemented under XMP, so I gave you the Pronto Hex for the GI Cable protocol. Both sets of data are available at hifi-remote.com in the Cable section.  Basically the XMP stuff comes from the CBl 1982 setup code in Comcast remotes, and it applies to a variety of STBs.

I use MakeHex with the MakeHex GUI.  Jason wrote a pretty good explanation of how to use them, although not for XMP.  Use IRTool to check if your Pronto Hex is correct.

My mistake. I gave you the Pronto Hex for UEI's EFC convention rather than the function numbers. I've edited my post above with, I hope, the correct codes.
