What do you mean by "same"? Your 4.1 sample from MakeHex is NOT the same as your 4.3 sample from MakeHex.
So what do you mean by "non-working"? My guess is you tested just the device 4.3 sample and it didn't work. You thought the device 4.1 sample was the same, so you didn't test it.
Can you point me in the right direction as to what the
difference is between the hex in the working v non-working
versions in the original post?
