I'm not a custom installer, but figured you folks might have this answer.
I am trying to get my Niles Intellicontrol to respond to a timed event. The only way I've figured out how to do it, so far, is to program the timer macro into a Pronto and send that set of IR commands to the Niles IR sensor which I have in place. Is there any other timer device than can be made part of the Niles system or any other solution?
Thanks in advance, Ron

Ron, I have been researching this very situation with a client that wants to have his outdoor speakers turn off automatically after a certain period of time. He is using a Niles ZR-4630. The only way that we have been able to figure this out is to use a pronto with a timed macro. This will work, even though it seems a bit hokey. Does anybody else have a solution to this problem?

If either of those units can be triggered Off by a contact-closure, you could use an "Event Timer" relay module, manufactured by Altronix and others.
The simplest IR solution would probably be the Applied Digital (Adicon) Ocelot, which can be programmed to send learned IR commands at specific times -- and much more.
