If either of those units can be triggered Off by a contact-closure, you could use an "Event Timer" relay module, manufactured by Altronix and others.
The simplest IR solution would probably be the Applied Digital (Adicon) Ocelot, which can be programmed to send learned IR commands at specific times -- and much more.
