There are A LOT of options for this application. When this sort of thing comes up (PTZ) camera inquiry...I call the ADI helpline and talk to them about my application. They will help you customize the proper camera/lens enclosure for the application. There are a lot of factors to consider. If money is no object the obvious choice is

Those look pretty cool, though I am not a big fan ADI in general. There is a branch right around the corner from my house and it pretty much blows. Right next to Brent's favorite store, Ikea. Service and selection is weak in my opinion, unless it is just wire I need. Was looking for 110 blocks there yesterday and nobody seemed to be interested in giving me the time of day. It was late in the afternoon and I was the only one in the store.

I am playing phone tag with Dave at C* Sa#$s, I want to pick his brain. Leaning towards the Panasonic set up right now. I just need some free time when my brain is semi working to get educated a little better.

The Carson ADI store is chalked full of retards. I NEVER deal with them. I actually call the South San Francisco branch and talk with people I know from back in the day there. The girl there gives me incredible pricing (whichever store you order from gets the credit for the sale) and everything just gets shipped to wherever I need it.

Panasonic is O.K. sorta like the IKEA of cameras LOL - but if you want high end Extreme CCTV is the ONLY way to go.

I am not saying i am a pro at with making these work but we have Kalatel CyberDome PTZ in use at a car dealership for 24/7 security and these things are not cheap but man they are cool, they are full 360 degree rotation and the models we have have night vision option, here is the the web site:

I will give you my two cents. I don't like PTZ. Maybe I am old school but I would rather have three or four standard cameras covering the necessary field of views than one PTZ that generally tends to be pointed in the wrong direction when it is needed.

When you calculate the cost of having someone manning a controller 24/7 the costs escalate out of sight. The incident that you are going to want to see and to record is more likely captured on multiple stationary cameras than a single PTZ pointed in one direction.

Just my two cents.
