ditto that, efax is good stuff, and free if you're inbound only.

You may also want to talk to your ISP about it... My ISP offers free inbound fax to e-mail with a free phone number. Outbound has multiple plans depending on volume.

My e-fax was free, but only if I received less than 10 faxes or the like. After than it was $12/month, so I let it go. How are you guys getting it for free?

Im still trying to get my 2nd VOIP line functional, so I can have a dedicated fax line. If someone can tell me how they are getting efax for free, that'd be great:)
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

i pay for mine, its not a lot per month, and it is worth it. i send a lot outbound too. "a lot" is relative, as it doesn't get used that often, but because i travel so often, it is nice to know that i can send and receive faxes when overseas.

How do you go about signing forms received and then sending them back? Do you need to print it, sign and then rescan it back into the computer to fax with a signature?

I don't like anything for fax and purposely don't put the number on anything any more. It's my way of helping people and manufacturers that haven't heard of E-mail enter the 21st century ;-). Seriously, why the hell does anyone, ESPECIALLY manufacturers still use fax?! I refuse to help them stay in the 20th century by paying for a fax service, I stick with WinFax. OK, rant aside, Efax, InterFax, TrustFax, ard three options.

Never read the fine print since I wasn't interested. Just saw the page link below with the big "free" option and having also heard other people talk about it being free for incoming I assumed it was legit. If there's a 20 page monthly limit that makes it about worthless, doesn't it?

Basic and thorough animal magnetism.

But seriously, efax and jfax, whom I use, used to and maybe still do have a program where you can get a free fax number if you don't receive more than some small number of faxes per month. I had mine for about five years before I got 12 pages one month, and then had to let go of the number -- on my business cards all over the place -- or pay $15 per month. I'm paying.

The free fax numbers were wherever they had them. I'm in the Los Angeles area and my fax number was near Sacramento. But it was free and I got an image in my email, no paper wasted, every time I got a fax.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
