Hello everyone,

I’m new to Chicago and I’ve been noticing quite a few post coming from the Chicago area. I have yet to seek employment in the area, but plan to do so in the near future. If anyone out there is needing any assistance, please drop me an email.
thanks

hey no fair! Actually I will be seeking employment in the Chicago area next late summer/early fall. Can some Chicago locals here let us in on how the job market is there?

I'm surprised on the lack of comments from this post, and the sarcasm from the post recieved. I think this is a realistic request.
Deco, do you have a retail store? If so, maybe you could let me know where it is located via e-mail, and if i get to the area, i'll stop in.
thanks!

Actually, our Chicago office is hiring and it wasn't sarcastic, it was a test to see if you have a sense of humor, which is a requirement for our firm. You fail.

The good news is that vts1134 passed.

Thanks QQQ. But seriously if your hiring my Salary requirements are 200K and I only work monday mornings. How big is your firm QQQ? I work for a company with 22 employees but we also do retail. I am involved in sales/design/installation/programing/and pretty much any thing else you can think of. I am trying to meet some people from Chicago now though before I move next year.

Wow, i've never been shot down for my sense of humor before, this might be a first.

QQQ, I guess I was set back by the word "newbie", I didn't understand why you thought just because someone is new to Chicago that they are new to the industry. oops! If you are really looking for someone, drop me an e-mail. :)

Guys, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to suggest anything at all by the term newbie. I didn't think you were newbies at all - I only used it to emphasize my extreme and obviously absurd scenario.

After working in the industry its tough to find absurd scenario's any more. I think this industry will throw all the absurd scenarios at you the first week.

Well I just got back from Chicago last night and I was reminded of how much I love that city. I was also reminded of how no home theater dealers listed on CEDIA are open at all on Saturday. Is that the norm in the Chicago area? We do most of our business on Saturday and most shops here are closed on Sunday and Monday.

We are not open on Saturday, and you're right most Shops aren't. At lease close to downtown. Most customers we have are fine to deal with throughout the week. It's not out of the question that we may be open on Saturday in the future, but I wouldn't push it. We are not open to the public, but maybe in the future.
