Hi,

Has anyone installed a wired (or wireless) mini-touchscreen as a retrofit ? I'm trying to find out if I'll need a bracket of any kind.

I'm finally getting the Wireless mini-touchscreens that were on backorder and I've never installed one before. I seem to remember hearing that I would need a pre-construction bracket even for retrofit installs, but I'm not sure if that's the case.

Thanks,

Dawn

There's a retro box for them.
Why all the fighting and cussing? Can't Dave play nice? We're just here to learn and have fun. It was a harmless jab, laugh and get over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you have to use them. And of course they are not a standard size either. They are actually pretty low quality. On one I did I had to use a third ear from a carlon box on the top left corner which meant the set screw for the t-screen wasn't used there. C4 knows they need to rethink the design on that thing....

The box has very small tabs on the front also. Hole has to be cut to the EXACT size.

Oh yea, forgot that fact too. In fact, cut the hole too small then shave it a bit at t time til the box fits. First one I did I cut the hole the size of the template and I had to really work to get it to fit and stay still in the hole/wall.

Thanks for the tips!

How come C4 doesn't have the retro boxes listed on their website? I guess I need to order them pretty quickly.

Sounds like this is the *one* thing that C4 and Crestron have in common.

Second that one. Crestron really needs to review their sheet metal and mounting option offerings, the weak spot in an otherwise strong line.

I make my own crestron retro boxes. I take the standard metal box and Dremmel the hell out of it until i can slide it into the hole. Still need to screw it to a stud though.
