The last Inca we did came with a flat horizontal plate about 36" wide and 6" deep on top of the lift. We had an enclosure made (stainless I think, it was for a unconditioned pool house) that enclosed the set on all sides except the front. The set, a 50" XBR plasma, bolted into the housing using the factory mounting holes and then the whole unit bolted down onto the plate. As with most lifts, we had to tweak the thing to get it to set right, shim here and there. I think it was an extra 25 to 30 hours of time, be sure to build in some extra to make it work right.

No Distributor in US yet. Direct order and they´ll ship with Fedex,UPS,DHL. Never had problems with their stuff.
But I think they are looking for one.

Hi Liftprofi
I thought I had emailed you back to let you know how I made out. The lift came in from electro-kinetics. I called them, and they explained how it was done. The cabinet maker that the customer is using has never built a cab with a lift before.
EK explained that the top piece should be attatched with dowels or biscuits so that does not become a pinch point for fingers.
I am still looking for recommendations on a peerless bracket.. as it needs to be as flush mounted as possible. I haven't had a chance to go thru my peerless book yet...
Thanks a bunch..
Bobby....

Merry Xmas all.

I'm relieved to find out nobody is advocating Auton. They need to hire a real welder for their shop, not some guy who bought a Mig welder from Home Depot and just tack welds at stress points. Learn how to run a bead dammit.

Another point to make in design; make sure that the lift, display, motor, and control interface is accessible when down inside the cabinet. This is very important when you have a very expensive cabinet, and the motor comes off the mount while still in the cabinet, and you can't open the cabinet. Doh!

Encourage the cabinet maker to provide as much access as possible when the lift is closed.

I seem to always have to make some kind of modification to the cabinet, or lift, or control circuitry, when I get all the stuff onsite. Even if the cabinet is assembled off site with the lift (send the lift to the cabinet shop for the cabinet guy to install!), something still doesn't work right.

Put a bunch of time in the bid. My last lift job with manual swivel took over 30 hours JUST TO FIX. If you put enough Engineering and PM in it, the install will go smooth.

My last lift job. Pour a glass of brandy, this could take a while;

1. The manual swivel plate had no stops. With cables running up underneath, I thought that it might be a good idea to drill in some set screws so the cable bundle wouldn't perpetually twist. When drilling them in, I got metal shavings inside the bearings of the swivel plate. Of course, I was scolded for for trying to be a hero, and damaging a $400 dollar piece of equipment. So I opened it up, repacked the bearings, and put it back together. (6 hours or so, Bigpapa fix, Bigpapa yell at management, management yell at Bigpapa.)

Doh!

2. The mount the swivel plate was on had only two 1.5" holes. The cabinet maker matched those two 1.5" holes on the bottom of the swiveling TV cabinet. When the cabinet swiveled, it sheared any wiring ran through the 1.5" holes. (Bigpapa pull off VERY EXPENSIVE TV housing and cut out larger cable passage with jigsaw in front of worrisome contractor. Bigpapa very amused!)

Doh! (with a coupla 'he he's' and snickers)

3. The area that was designated to hold the source (a DSS reciever) was at the bottom of the swiveled TV housing... right on top of the hole the cables are supposed to come through. Every time the cabinet swiveled, the cable bundle would move the reciever around. Doh! (Bigpapa move receiver into cavity of stationary cabinet, Bigpapa argue with PM (who helped 'engineer' this lift) about budget overage)

Doh!

All in all, a very successful job. We were successful in completely blowing the budget!

Noted before in another's post, and I want to reiterate; this job was designed, and all equipment specified, by an Interior Designer, and cabinet maker, a Project Superintendant for the home builder, and a Project Manager for an integration/AV company.

It ended up being engineered on-site by the installer. Double Red Dog Doh!

Merry Xmas, I thought you guys and goils might like this story.

Good luck Installz, you're asking the right questions and taking the right approach.

New Flatlfit system has arrived yesterday!

I ordered the new 50" Flatlift pop up system. This is a new generation of lift unit without any chains or noisy parts. The vertical Lift is available for 32" up to 60" Plasma or LCD. The lift drive looks as a small block and has a expansion of 28 inch! Thats a lot of range for such a small thing. Lift is very silent. Remote control is includet. Price is cheap for advanced technology and it will be much easier and faster to built in for the cabinet guy.

If someone want details please mail me!

Herr Rissel (Liftprofi),

du nimmst mich auf den Arm.

Please stop pretending you are a neutral advocate and don't work for the company whose products you are touting. You insult the collective intelligence of the board, and undermine your credibility!

Donkeschön und Viel Glück!

Yeah Jack, or s.rissel, or whoever you are. This is a chat forum; please chat with us, don't BS us. I'd love to have your input and opinion, but not under false pretense.

Are you a welder?

I just wanted to know if you can weld.

Nobody at Auton can.

It's a joke. Read my posts.
