I don't know how much they want for the Xantech stuff, but it might be cheaper to use the RF extender. Provided, of course, his remote supports it. It comes with the IR emitters and costs about $100. You could run an emitter to one of the players and mask the window. One player would work with straight IR and the other would work with the extender.

Hey Jim,

Thanks. I have the TSU6000, so I think this will work fine (cheaper too!). Thanks to everyone else for thier input. Sorry this turned into a mini sh*tstorm.

Cheers

Sorry McNasty please accept my humble apologies, perhaps I was a bit harsh. Xantech has a lot of time and work in their IR products. The codes and the equipment they produce work more reliably than any other I have used. That RC68 programmer doesn't cost much but as a retail item I could see an enduser finding it expensive but are we not in a place for the pros

Apology accepted...I just hate seeing people get ripped off. The poor guy already spent money on a Pronto Pro, why should he have to buy another remote just for IR data. If I had the codes, I'd send them to him.

I agree with everyone. Xantech does work hard to produce some really good products...but in the spirit of this forum and everything we do on here, trying to help someone in need out, in any way we can...it just seems like Xantech is the opposite. I too would give him the codes if I had them or knew where to get them. He doesn't want, or need the remote, he just needs the codes. I personally think giving him the codes and providing excellent support for the products he already owns of theirs would more than likely make him want to continue to use Xantech products. In this situation, I personally would say screw Xantech, I'm going with a company that will be there for me without giving me the run around. You might think we're tight...but it sounds like Xantech is even tighter. I don't like the idea of the dealer losing money at all. Maybe the dealer could find it in his heart to give up the secret codes. At least that way they won't be losing any money. Personally I say sell the Sony crap and buy some real stuff. But that's just my opinion.

You could also get another RFX6000 for the 2nd DVD and set it to different address. The TSU6000 is device addressable.
